Fawn Mckay
Fawn McKay was born in Ogden Utah on September 15 1915. Fawn MacKay, who was a member of the Mormon Church's first family, used her astonishing abilities as a writer and her formidable abilities to research in order to produce the psycho-historical biographies about Joseph Smith. The book The book,"No Man is a Master of My History was published in 1945. The name was taken from the sermon title that Joseph Smith delivered in 1844, when he amazed his audience by stating: "You don't know me, and you have never heard my heart. Nobody knows my past. Nobody knows my story. Fawn was a 29-year-old Fawn. Since that moment there have been at least three writers who have stood up to the task. Some have rebuked him, while others have deified. A few have even made a diagnosis. Not that the documents aren't there, it's that they are so contradictory. It's a daunting task to put together these documents, separating first-hand accounts from third-hand copies and fitting Mormon accounts with those of non-Mormon people to form a cohesive mosaic. This is exciting as well as informative. Fawn Brodie's professional life was committed to this cause. Her work in research and writing earned her fame all over the world: Thaddeus Stephens. The Devil Drives (1959) Scourge of the South Thomas Jefferson. Richard Nixon, An Intimate historiography (1974), posthumous.
